Description
.One of my earliest memories of really enjoying art was reading Rohald Dahl’s amazing childrens books and seeing Quentin Blakes beautiful illustrations bring the stories to life. They made me want to draw, paint & scribble. I believe those illustrations, and the stories, were my first push towards a career as an artist.
As an adult, I was carving a figure from a small piece of soapstone. The figure reminded me of Quentin Blakes conjuring of the B.F.G from Dahls brilliant story, and so it was titled, memories of the B.F.G. I was lucky enough to meet Quentin Blake in 2010 through his london Gallery, Chris Beetles. I had the pleasure of giving him this sculpture in person as a gift.
