A pleasure to work on sucha big piece ofmarble! This was a private commission based on the theme of Atlas,who had to carry the world. This was before he put the world on his shoulders. I like to think of it as youth, before the problemsof the world weigh heavily on us. At that point the world is ours, and we can do anything.
